Jinjer - "On The Top"

I used some free time in between projects to mix Jinjer's "On The Top" using Universal Audio LUNA, just to get used to the software.
Check out how differently we can interpret a song's mix based on the same raw material.

Very nice Jera. Was your source for the original stereo mix YouTube? In comparison to your mix it sounds a bit nasal, with more low mids, gentler guitar that is lower in the mix, and a much narrower stereo spread. Your mix has very wide stereo. I can really hear the sub-bass on the kick drum. You carved out a lot of space for the vocal so it has a nice place to sit. You did a radical re-interpretation of the guitar. It sounds like you re-amped it through a high-gain amp. It is also much higher in the mix.

Hey Jay, Thanks for taking the time to comment here! The source was a 320Kbps mp3 from the album. I did re-amp the guitars through different plugins and yes, it was a re-interpretation of the guitar tone. I wanted a bit more aggression coming from them. I'm not sure if you'll receive any notification that I replied to the comment... but anyways! Thanks for stopping by! Cheers
